More than 1,500 museum and cultural venues across the U.S. will open their doors free of charge as part of Smithsonian Magazine’s annual Museum Day, and Newport County has an impressive roster of participating sites. Have you been meaning to check out the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum? Blithewold or the Herreshoff Marine Museum in Bristol? Casey Farm in Saunderstown? The Museum of Newport History, Newport Art Museum or the Colony House right here in our backyard? Dare you head off the island and check out the RISD Museum of Art in Providence?
