Labor Day Weekend–Kick it Up a Notch (in New Kicks)!

On the eve of Labor Day weekend, there’s a sense that the spoils of summer 2011 will soon be giving way to the charm of autumn in New England. And while an endless summer in Newport would be divine, there’s some great fall fashion (and shoes!) that make the transition not too shabby. Yesterday I popped into Sole Desire when I heard they were having a great sale on summer kicks and it did not disappoint, plus the fall preview of what’s coming into the Brick Market shop was exciting. Super sexy Jessica Simpson stilettos, supple Frye boots, knee-high weather-proof boots, hounds-tooth heels by Rocket Dog (pictured below)—all fantastic. But for the next few weeks of summer ahead, I scored some nautical-inspired fun finds including Sperry platforms I wrote about earlier in the summer here, and some chic, striped, 50s-style Madden Girl heels—both at a fraction of the price. Happy end-of-summer shopping!
