The next few days ahead look like idyllic summer temperatures, just in time for the Ocean State Tall Ships Festival here in Newport (for details, click here). The just-wrapped America’s Cup World Series proved a lot of things, including Newport is a beloved locale for sailors– for conditions, environment and enthusiasm (ETNZ Skipper Dean Barker laughed saying Newport was one of few places where unsolicited sailing advice might come with your morning coffee); and that casual style, even in the blazing sun, can be poised and polished. Day in and day out of the ACWS, I took in bold colors and nautical stripes as far as the eye can see…
