Ah, fall. It seems like as soon as September was underway, New England decided to jump right in with unabashed gusto. While it’s always sad to see summer close, the reinvigorated fashions of fall seem to make everything right with the world. Inspired by the cover of the latest issue of The New Yorker, the Stylephile has scoped out some of the best mid-calf, knee-high and at/over the knee fall boots around town.
Starting on Thames Street, Sole Desire is carrying the latest covetable designs by Steve Madden, Born and the veritable American boot purveyor, Frye (making boots since 1863, making The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States). Sole Desire also stocks this fall’s must-have boot, the Steve Madden “Mantel.”

Just a few stops down on Swinburne Row, Ooh Ooh Shoes! boasts a small but distinguished boot selection as well (though it is entirely too easy to get distracted by their amazing collection of Badgley Mischka cocktail dresses and floor-length gowns).
Men and women who already know the quality of the Rockport brand will enjoy the selection of boots at the location at the corner of Thames and Mill Streets. All leather and known for comfort and dependability, the Rockport offerings are worth checking out.
