The Newport Wine Cellar’s David and Maria Glade eagerly announce the perfect pairing for their already admired wine shop: a specialty food and artisanal cheese headquarters right next door. Le Petit Gourmet will offer a wide variety of imported and domesti
c artisanal cheeses, high quality dry goods, cured meats and olives, fresh breads, and simple prepared meals to-go, in addition to some hard to find regional specialties from all wine growing regions—all things from earth and vine. “We want to provide excellent quality and value—great food and wine at reasonable prices in a friendly and educational environment,” say the couple, who have already mastered the art of stocking lesser-known varietals.
A welcome addition to Historic Hill, directly across from the Hotel Viking, Le Petit Gourmet will have complimentary weekly tastings, wine classes on Wednesdays, 
monthly cheese dinners, wine and cheese of the month club, and an introduction to some new adventures in food and wine.
“Our philosophy is to keep it simple, affordable and fun, so just come in and chat with us,” say the Glades. “Relax, it’s just food and wine—you are supposed to enjoy yourself!”
Newport Wine Cellar & Le Petit Gourmet is located at 24-26 Bellevue Avenue and is open 11:30-7pm daily; 12pm-5 on Sunday. There is available parking in the rear of the building.
