Venerable Boston-based photography team Person + Killian proudly opened a second satellite location in Newport’s historic Travers Building this month, catering to Newport’s thriving wedding market. The dynamic duo of Jill Person and Laurén Killian grew up in greater Boston, earned degrees in photography, and met early in their careers working for the same photography company. After the shutterbugs paired up, the two opened a studio in Boston’s Back Bay and ever since, have earned an enviable reputation throughout the wedding industry. With increased inquiries from brides-to-be based in New York and southern Connecticut planning a destination wedding in Newport, the team took the plunge to open their doors here in the City-by-the-Sea.
“There’s a reason so many couples choose Newport as the place to be for their wedding,” says Laurén. “Its rich history and architectural landmarks coupled with the area’s natural beauty provide the perfect backdrop for special occasions and for creating great memories.”
Potential clients will initially meet at the intimate satellite studio to review their plans, and can then tour the city and visit sites that will become an integral part of their day. “It’s all about location,” says Jill. “For a photographer, shooting in Newport is like living a dream. There are so many fabulous estates, a great downtown and of course, an eye popping waterfront with so many beautiful marinas.”
These go-to gals are excited to be a part of Newport, our wedding industry and the business community. “Opening an office in Newport is unbelievably exciting,” says Laurén. “Now, its Newport here we come!”
The Newport studio is located at 174 Bellevue Avenue, Suite 313. View some of Person + Killian Photography’s work on their blog at www.personkillian.com/blog
