Since its inception 5 years ago, the Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival has continued to lure culinary luminaries and this year’s event, set for Sept. 24-26, is no exception. Billed as the “most upscale wine and food festival on the East Coast,” celebrity chef appearances and cooking demonstrations this weekend include Portsmouth native Chef Chris Cosentino of Incanto/Boccalone in San Francisco and Food Network’s Chefs vs. City; and Chef Chris Shea of David Burke Prime at Foxwoods. Other industry personalities include Roseann Tully, CEO & Founder of Intermezzo Magazine; in addition to Nick Stellino, Rachel Allen, Christina Pirello and Joanne Chang of Boston’s Flour Bakery and Myers &
Chang; Dan Enos of Boston’s Oceanaire Seafood Room, Adam Halberg of the Barcelona Restaurant Group, and Andrew Shotts of Garrison Confections.
The weekend also includes a two-day Grand Tasting with more than 100 wineries from around the globe on the lawn of Marble House (brew aficionados should head to the Stella Artois Beer Garden), seminars with leading wine experts, including Wine Editor Ray Isle of FOOD & WINE and television personality and author Leslie Sbrocco, plus noted viniculture artist Thomas Arvid, and Boston TV Diner host Billy Costa.
