Michael Hayes in Newport (both the Bellevue Avenue and Bannister’s Wharf locations) has marked summer merchandise 50 % -75% off. I know, with apple cider served at every corner Dunkin’ Donuts and pumpkins-a-plenty, your fashion instincts are far beyond summer fashion, but think about that mid-winter cruise, that January jaunt in Florida, that destination wedding, that BVI regatta that you fly down for but never actually see the race but instead spend your days at Foxy’s Tamarind Bar (a.k.a. Foxy’s). Buy it at a bargain now, wear it later.
Gossip on Thames Street (on the same stretch as Annabelle and Cosmetic Cosmos) also has 40% off a ton of merchandise. Owner Janelle Feigley tells me she plans to keep the shop open at least on weekeds when the weather is co-operative. Her flagship shop of the same name is worth a visit next time you’re in Wickford, and they are known to hast terrific private shopping parties!
