Holiday Sweet Treat!

Today’s Hometown Holidays features a fabulous local gift for a hostess and would also make a great teacher gift: a homemade pie from Cory’s Kitchen at Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown. Regulars know that there’s one big problem with Steve Cory’s creations: you never know which one to get, because they all are so tantalizing! This holiday season, Cory’s Kitchen is baking the following flavors:

Pumpkin**, Pumpkin Pecan**, Chocolate Pecan, Pecan**, Apple, Apple Cranberry, Cherry, Mincemeat, Peach, Peach Praline, Strawberry Rhubarb, Key Lime, Blueberry, Mixed Berry, Raspberry

**see link below for a recipe!

All of Cory’s Kitchen pies are under $20 and you just need to give the bakers over there a few days notice, or pop on in the charming market at Sweet Berry Farm and place your order (open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Hostesses will be sure to invite you back soon, and teachers, well, that A+ may just be in your kid’s future!

Call Cory’s Kitchen at 847-3912, visit Sweet Berry at 915 Mitchell’s Lane in Middletown, or email Steve Cory direct at

***UPDATED***: Steve Cory of Cory’s Kitchen and Janet Fatulli of Fatulli’s Gourmet Bakery in Middletown graciously shared some of their favorite pie recipes with Newport Life Magazine in their November/December 2010 issue, so release your inner Martha Stewart and create your own homemade rendition of some of the island’s best pies!!! Great Post!!! In the Nov/Dec 2010 issue of NLM we published five recipes of our favorite holiday pies and two were from Steve Cory at Sweet Berry Farm. His pumpkin pie and pecan pie were at the TOP of our list!

Oooooh- would love to post those if possible, or maybe there’s a link to the recipes? I hear Cory’s Kitchen pecan is out of this world!
