Baby, You’re a Firework!

Pop princess Katy Perry has partnered with nail color powerhouse OPI to present Shattered, a four color collection available at Ki-Ra Salon in Newport ($9.50 each).Inspired by the “teenage dream’s” song titles on her most recent album, the shimmery shades are as follows (shown left to right in image below):

Last Friday Night (bold blue glitter, like Perry’s hair, seen above)

Not Like The Movies (shimmery silver)

The One That Got Away (metallic raspberry)

Teenage Dream (super shiny pink glitter)

The Black Shatter top coat (shown far right) creates the crackled look when applied over any of the other shades once it has dried. Right, so “shattered” nails may not be your best bet for your next board meeting, it’s a fun, adventurous look when out and about.

Insiders tip: Beauty bloggers are reporting that application of the shatter coat can bit a bit tricky as it’s all about mastering  perfect timing to get it just right. My suggestion? Lean back and let the Ki-Ra girls treat you to a mani/pedi for optimum shattered style.

Ki-Ra Salon is located at 6 West Marlborough Street in Newport, 847-KIRA (5472)
