When Sara Schlieff-Ross of Archbeauty Skin Care Salon & Boutique told me her charming Memorial Boulevard beauty hotspot was adding world-renowned make-up line Smashbox to their already powerhouse product lines, I was thrilled. Best known as a studio-inspired line, 
celebrating its 15th year, is best known for illuminating essentials, long-wearing products and weightless foundations that leave nothing but a photo-fabulous, flawless finish. (And Smashbox is cruelty-free, so its never tested on animals.)
Archbeauty has a number of Smashbox essentials including Photo Finish Foundation Primer made with vitamins A and E, grape seed extract and green tea that is said to help “reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish.” It was named one of Marie Claire’s 25 Products That Will Change Your Life, and an InStyle Best Beauty Buy.
Since Newport has only had about 12 hours of sun over the past week, I picked up one of 
Smashbox’s fab bronzing products. Fusion Soft Lights is a light, shimmering powder with five shades that blend together for a natural glow. The beauty boutique also had the equally tempting Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, a anti-aging powder with 48 minerals, 11 amino acids, a powerful peptide, and one more ingredient–pure gold. There’s also the “O” products like O-Glow, a clear cheek gel they call an intuitive blush made with Goji Berry-C Complex that reacts with your skin’s chemistry to create a natural glowing blush.
Archbeauty is located at 18 Memorial Blvd. West (401-619-5885) and is the only place you can get Smashbox in Newport, and Erin and Sara are more than happy to give you a walk through the line.
