Tote-ally in the Bag

There is something intrinsically nautical about a canvas tote, which might explain my mild addiction to them. Today, I’m featuring a trio of small to medium signature Newport totes that are purse-size with enough room to carry just about everything you need on a warm summer day. The above Sebring tote by Lindsay Phillips stopped me in my tracks when I was walking by The Music Box this week. Just $39.99, it features contrast handles, an inside pocket, two interchangeable snaps, and an eye-catching nautical rope design.

Local designer Angela Moore takes her iconic bead designs to colorful ribbon patterns on multiple size totes including the one above. The small tote, just $50, is made of natural canvas and features a water resistant vinyl bottom in turquoise (with pink flamingo-embroidered ribbon handles) or in pink (with “pink and green forever” ribbon handles).

It’s hard to find the custom, limited edition Newport totes by Vineyard Vines anywhere but Island Outfitters. At $95, the canvas tote is trimmed with custom Newport-themed patterns with a cotton-oxford gingham or striped lining. Handmade in the USA, it features a (seldom used) zip-top closure, water-resistant bottom and four interior pockets.
