Jetting off to St. Barth’s may not be in your future plans anytime soon, but stopping into Rib and Rhein on William Street might just feel like a jaunt to a faraway, glamorous place. Rich silks from India, beaded tunics from Africa, books and décor from global locales plus clothing and jewelry with everything from a nautical to hippie chic flair add up to an international bazaar of fab finds. There was this amazingly colorful, floor-length silk dress, dubbed the “Jerry Hall halter” ($295) as well as a trés Newport stripe jersey dress with a racer back and shelf bra by Seaton pictured at left—both make for times styl
es that can be worn for years (and a great fit for expecting mommies, as owner Thomas Ribeiro noted). Tunics will be big this fall, he and wife Erin predict, so the shop is constantly restocking new ones as they already have been flying off the racks, including this eyelet “Babe Paley” fringed tunic ($298) by Seaton. (Visualize with dark denim skinny jeans or a free flowing trouser style that’s been all over the fall fashion issues…) Happy shopping, no passport required.
