The Newport International Boat Show kicks off today, running through Sunday, and even if you don’t know the difference between starboard and stern, the show promises a good time as vendors showcase some of the best nautical clothing and accessories around (oh yeah, and boats, hundreds of ’em).
Newport’s own Style Newport, which serves clients around the world, is unveiling some new additions at the show. The “Love” ring (top left), available in both gold vermeil ($275) and sterling silver ($250), features four nautical flags spelling out l-o-v-e, while the Shackle Ring (at left), designed in collaboration with Kevin Duris of Duris Studios on Franklin Street, has a shackle clasp front with delicate rope detailing.
I’m also loving the sailing rope bracelet (at top, right) with a brummel hook closure made of solid brass and in a variety of finishes (single rope, $100; wrap around rope, $115). The design is exclusive to Style Newport and looks great on men and women.
Also look for great gear by Henri Lloyd, comfy threads by Life is Good, awesome recycled sailcloth totes and accessories, and tons more! Oh, and I wrote this last year, but as a reminder ladies—flats or wedges at the show, ladies. Pulling your heels out from between the deck boards is not a good look. And as you’ll be asked to go barefoot on those million dollar boats, you might want to check when you had your last pedicure. You’ll thank me later…
