Tonight at Wish in Newport, jewelry designer and local Newporter Katie Whittemore hosts a trunk show from 6-8pm.
Crafting pieces made from vintage materials including antique pins, pendants, beads and various discovered treasures, Katie reworks her finds into modern, fresh designs. “The colors I gravitate towards are bright and vibrant so just perfect for spring. I’ve always loved costume jewelry – the bigger the 
better! – and have always loved creating my own one-of-a-kind pieces using vintage beads which have such a great richness and history to them,” says the talented designer.
Some of the rare, unique materials Katie uses from around the globe include, for example, Czech beads from the 1920’s and Hindu glass wedding bangles — pieces that merge the past with the present while celebrating individual style.
