A Twist on the Traditional Shift

Clothing designer Julie Brown founded her line on the principals of classic silhouettes and distinctively designed prints with the everyday girl in mind. Some days call for casual, comfy favorites, while others are about making an impression. When I spotted the Leah dress by Julie Brown at Angela Moore last week, I couldn’t help but think it was perfect for summer nights in Newport. The crisp white shift is reinvented with a pair of sequin stripes in blue and green—two hues you’ll find no shortage of in the City-by-the-Sea. With the busiest season around the corner (hello, garden parties, rehearsal dinners, seaside soirees!), this little number is sure to come in handy ($190, at Angela Moore, 190 Bellevue Avenue, Newport).
