Living the Ruff Life: Locally-Made Fair Lead Leshes

Last month I was pulling some featured products for The Rhode Show and I loved these leashes and collars I found by The Fair Lead at Wag Nation in the City-by-the-Sea. With Newport’s nautical style and rope accessories like bracelets by Lemon & Line flying off the shelves around town, it’s the four-legged friend’s answer to today’s trends.

The Fair Lead is the brainchild of Jessica Wurzbacher, who is more than just a fabulous dog mama. She’s also a marine scientist, accomplished sailor (with 40,000 nautical miles of round-the-world sailing under her belt), and conservationist.

The Fair Lead’s“classic” range of leashes are made of marine grade traditional 3-strand rope strong enough to anchor and rig a large boat! Leashes include traditional marlinspike splices at either end and a marine grade bronze swivel snap clip, making the leash stand out with style on any dock, beach or park. On the handle is an additional small bronze ring, perfect for the leash over your shoulder or attaching keys, bags, etc.
