While many Rhode Islanders are looking to slow down the hands of time and squeeze in a few more beach days before summer’s end, the reality is fall is just around the corner. Shopping on the cusp of two seasons can be challenge, but here are some helpful tips and fabulous finds to make the most of your shopping dollar.
Soft, flowing blouses are light and airy (shown at top, Patterson J. Kinkaid Leena blouse with leather trim from Laura Jean) and go with just about everything.
Neutral-toned shoes (like Kate Middelton’s famed nude heels by London-made L.K. Bennett, which retail for $325) can be worn year-round, plus they lend the leg a long, lean look.
Bib necklaces, a must-have summer accessory, will continue to be in-demand this fall, so look for warm hues (like the Stella & Dot Olivia necklace, which we’re giving to one lucky reader this week—see the post below to enter).
Whether headed to a wedding, fundraiser or special event, trade uber-summery prints like eyelet and seersucker for bolder looks like the floor length dress by Lush from Sunya
The colorful and patterned (Python print jean by Big Star, $106 at Laura Jean) pants and jeans trend also continuing into fall—again, gravitate toward jewel tones like lapis (the Stilt Cigarette AG Jean in lapis, $159 at Laura Jean) and emerald, and if time and budget affords, one neutral (Charmer Skinny Jean by Sanctuary denim in oyster, $149 at Laura Jean)
I just brought all of these looks to The Rhode Show. Click the pic below to watch!
