During the Newport International Boat Show two weeks ago, I checked out a preview of some of Sebago’s fall styles for men and women. (They were official footwear sponsor of the show, and it’s no surprise as the company has long had an affinity for the City-by-the-Sea.) Founded in 1946, Sebago has long been known for boat shoes, but made their way to the mainstream fashion scene in the 80s. They’ve more recently surged in popularity around the globe when Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was spotted wearing two-toed Sebago Bala deck shoes (on Newport Stylephile here).
This fall, Sebago welcomes fresh new designs, like the men’s Stockton boot with Woolrich wool panels (in the top pic), the sophisticated leather Salem shoe, and the slip-on Drake boot with waterproof full grain or suede leather. For women, the Claremont Brogue menswear-inspired shoe AND boot (favorite color is Black Cherry, pictured here), the Saranac Rider boot with double buckle collar detail, and the plush Coast Two-Eye quilted boat shoe are all remarkable standouts.
