Emerald may be the official color of 2013, but right now mint is the shade of the season. Last week, looking for a little gloomy weather pick-me-up, I set out to find a mint nail polish and apparently I wasn’t the only one because there were a lot of empty spring color displays!
Just a few choices: Butter London’s Opaque Icy Mint Crème, $15 (ArchBeauty carries Butter London), Essie Mint Candy Apple, $8 (CVS, Nordstrom), China Gaze Re-Fresh Mint, $6.59 (Sally Beauty Supply), Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Mint Sorbet, $3.99 (CVS), Nicole by OPI Hint of Mint (CVS), Dolce & Gabbana Intense Nail Lacquer Mint, $20-$24, (Saks Fifth Avenue), NYC Nail Polish Mint Macaroon, under $5 (CVS), and Revlon’s Jaded, around $6 (CVS, Target, etc.).
These are just a few of the minty fresh selections. I tried Sally Hansen’s Mint Sorbet for now and like it. If you know Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails line, you’ll know the polish is a little on the thicker side so you need some patience waiting for it to dry. Two coats is ideal, but I have Butter London’s Opaque Icy Mint Crème on my “must-try” lists.
