Getting your makeup professionally done is always a treat, so when I sat down with artist Ashley Rose Onges at JF3 Salon recently, I was even more excited as she has perfected the art of airbrush makeup.
Unlike traditional foundations that can settle into creases and pores, airbrush foundation sits on top of the skin creating a naturally radiant “soft-focus” glow and flawless finish. Ashley uses the TEMPTU system (a favorite of pro artists for fashion shoots, red carpet events, at New York Fashion Week and more) which has developed a “SILKsphere” formula that delivers full coverage in just a few minutes. With airbrush application, you’ll use an average of 75% less makeup while maintaining a natural look, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have options. Ashley uses Youngblood mineral makeup at JF3 to complement the airbrush application. It’s non-comedogenic, doesn’t contain artificial color, fragrance, mineral oil or chemical dyes, is lead- and talc-free and is not tested on animals. She used the line to complete the look for eyes and lips. A helpful tip she passed along was the importance of good makeup brushes, which you can use to create the perfect “cat-eye” (stop struggling with liquid liners!). Don’t wait for a special occasion to treat yourself to getting your makeup done. Even for a night or day on the town, date night or girls day (and night!) out, you deserve to get glam once in a while!
