I was shocked—shocked, I tell you—when I spotted this stunning booty in the window of Helly Hansen on Newport’s Thames Street. THIS is a Sperry shoe?! Perched on a Sperry pedestal?! In fact it is. The brand has expanded well beyond the ubiquitous boat shoe in recent years, and these kicks are downright radical compared to what Sperry fans have become accustomed. The booty pictured at left, the Marlow, is a Chelsea-style boot in premium suede with gold detail in the elastic on the side (for comfort) and trim. The Harlow Wedge is also super stylish, almost a sleek, chic women’s version of the famous men’s desert boot. At Sole Desire I saw the women’s Falcon rainboot, which totally look like they fit in for strolling the English countryside. Dual buckle detailing frames a quilted shaft, while contrasting micro-fleece linings keep feet warm and dry. Sole Desire also had Sperry’s Sable Waterproof boot, a classic equestrian-style boot with a uniquely Sperry spin a la signature nautical hardware, interior grosgrain ribbon tab pulls and Wave-Siping™ on the outsoles for extra traction. Seam-sealed waterproof premium leather makes them durable for most weather conditions. Inventory at these shops changes weekly, so stop by and see what’s sailed in for fall.
Me too;) It’s officially made my wish list!
