Holiday Glam 101

Anyone else have an overflowing makeup bag but typically only uses the same few products? Makeup seems to just easily accumulate, maybe because it actually takes a while to get to the bottom of that eyeshadow pot or tube of lip gloss. Maybe you save that mascara just in the case of lash emergency, or that Clinique collection you scored during bonus time that doesn’t have a single shade you’d normally wear. Then there’s the products you were seduced into buying at a glimmering makeup counter (I don’t know what happened the last time I was at Henri Bendel…I went in for one NARS lipstick and left with that seductive black and white striped tote full of God knows what).

Consolidation: it’s why I love this time year when holiday sets make their debut. Sets are easy to travel with and let you try out a shade you’ve been considering without have to buy a full-size. Stila’s colorful new Holiday collection, available at The Apothecary in Newport, features winsome palettes, creamy liners and shiny glosses inspired by vintage artistry. Lip glazes, Eye & Cheek Palettes, eyeliner sets, shadow sets, brush sets–they simplify your collection AND make great gifts since they’re not shade specific. Sets start at $16.
