Finding the perfect pair of jeans is like discovering a pearl shucking oysters–it’s a rare find, a precious gift, and you know right away you need to hang onto it. When it comes to denim, there’s a million brands out there, and a million different body types, so what’s gold for one might be disastrous for another. One brand I’ve come to love is Adriano Goldschmied, best known as “AG,” which I’ve written about previosly. In fact, a pair I bought at Laura Jean Denim Shop about eight years ago had maintained their fit but the hem, after years of just skimming the ground as they were tailored specifically for wearing with heels, had become frayed enough to need addressing. Last month I took them to A Mano Tailoring in Newport to make the ‘ol AGs “flat-friendly” jeans–it’s like having a whole new pair.
I asked Laura Jean about the new AGs she has in her Bellevue Shop. “We have a lot of styles of AGs to chose from to assure a great fitting pair for most body types,” Laura said. “We have leg openings from the absolute legging to a boot cut, and many different rises. custom alteration service to insure the perfect fit.” She also says that most of the AGs are cut higher than the standard 7.5″ rise, which allows for a comfortable, confident wear. Here’s a look at some fall 2013 pieces :
And Spring 2014 pieces:
Other AG styles at Laura Jean Denim Shop include the Stilt (Cigarette Leg), Middi (Mid Rise Legging), Prima (Mid Rise Cigarette), Harlow (Patch Pocket Zip), Legging Ankle (Super Skinny Ankle), Absolute Legging (Extreme Skinny – coated), Tomboy (Relaxed Straight Leg), Olivia (Skinny Boot Cut), Angel (Bootcut), Alexa (Mid Rise Slim Boot), Aubrey (Skinny Straight), Ballad (Slim Boot), Jessie (Curvy Boot Cut), Legging (Super Skinny Fit). The average cost of AGs run about $174.00 but range from $159.00-$215.00.
