Admittedly, I had never heard of Kühl clothing before I stopped into Island Pursuit a few weeks ago, but I immediately checked it out. Before Kühl, there was Alfwear, a small outdoor hat company co-founded by three skiers and a rock climber. One of the original founders took the brand to the next level as the line evolved into Kühl, punctuated by its signature Jacquard jacket, a Euro-styled Polartec® kuhl_1fleece top that featured the first innovative thumb-loop cuff system and lightweight underarm gussets for comfort and climate control. Inspired by the founders’ adventurous lifestyle (and those with whom they share a similar ethos) Kühl expanded to include pants, shirts, and more that appeal to outdoor enthusiasts.

I don’t want to think about cold temperatures yet either, but as today is the first day of fall, it’s clear they are right around the corner. The best part about Kühl pieces for women at Island Pursuit is that the jackets and vests are made from high-performance fabrics without sacrificing style. The KÜHL Kozet Vest and Full-Zip Sweater ($109) both feature a beautiful wool blend body fabric (with a unique texture) and a second fabric on the side panels which offers an extra range of motion for

freedom of movement. Even better, “flat lock” stitching increases strength while reducing the bulk. The Grace Long Sleeve Shirt ($55) is super soft and equally flattering as it has gentle rushing across the front and is made with 57% Wildfibre Organic Cotton and a touch of Spandex for stretch and shape retention. Then there’s the Salza dress, a rendition of the long sleeve tee with front and back slimming princess lines and an adjustable wrap belt for multiple styles ($65).

Men will love the Kollusion Jacket made from waterproof/breathable fabric with Polyurethane coating and synthetic wax—perfect to keep in a dry light rain and on cold, dry snow days ($149). The Kommando Crew Shirt ($50-$55) is 100% organic cotton and has useful features like a zip stash pocket and thumbloops. Flannel-style long sleeve shirts ($59-$79) are anything but typical with technical ELUXUR fabric at the yoke, collar and cuffs and for comforting warmth a technical Hollow-core fabric everywhere else.

Don’t forget to take advantage of the special offer Island Pursuit is offering Newport Stylephile readers: Use coupon code NEWPORTSTYLE to get 20% of your entire purchase at Island Pursuit. The fine print: 20% off applies to in-store and online purchases from now until November 1st. Offer is only valid on regular price items and cannot be combined with any other offer.
