I learned Sebago shoes were a lot more than extraordinary boat shoes earlier this summer when I worked with a photographer who was scouting locations around Newport that embodied the company’s “life well crafted” philosophy. IYRS was a natural fit (see pics fro the campaign here) as just like the classic wooden boats both built and restored at the lauded school, the heartbeat of Sebagos are their fine craftsmanship.
This fall, Sebago introduced the Hutton line. The collection takes a design nod from the boys but is distinctly feminine with its delicate-features-meets-solid-durability. The collection includes the Chukka Boot, Cap Toe Shoe and Smoking Flat. All lovely, but I fell for the Chukka Boot and its warm blue hue (also available in dark brown and taupe). Handcrafted and artistic mix of natural leather and suede, the boot features ample cushioning but lightweight construction. As described, it’s heirloom inspiration and heel treatment are refined rustic at its best. The stacked heel with subtle lift is in sync with the trending bootie, pairing well with straight leg denim and dresses.
In my recent feature for TheDailyBasics.com, the digital lifestyle and design magazine, I featured the Sebago Chukkaa as a whimsical addition to a classic “jeans and Oxford” outfit. Read “Fall Fashion For Moms: Short on Time, Big on Style” by clicking here.
