When Elle Woods tells you to read a book, you read that book.
In July, Reese Witherspoon selected Whisper Network as her official “Reese’s Book Club x Hello Sunshine” book pick in tandem with its anticipated release. The debut adult novel by attorney-by-day, author-by-night Chandler Baker (she has written five young adult books), a story revolving around a close group of female litigators working at a Dallas-based athletic apparel brand who are tired of being mistreated in the workplace, most especially by Ames Garrett, the company’s General Counsel and CEO-in-waiting. Described as a “feminist thriller,” “timely,” and “the ultimate #MeToo book,” the whodunit story has a number of twists and turns along the way. (Read an excerpt from the first chapter here.)
I think my favorite description is from A.J. Finn, author of NYT bestseller The Woman in the Window, who calls the book “Nine to Five on speed” (all hail Dolly).

Although peppered with breadcrumbs of foreshadowing along the way, I found Whisper Network hard to put down during a recent trip to Florida (admittedly, the swaying palms and poolside frozen margarita potentially enhanced the experience).
Sure to spark conversation about gender roles, double standards, sexual harassment, the courage it takes to come forward and the demands on working women in general — and mothers — Whisper Network delivers with some laugh out loud antidotes and wise words woven within.
