‘Tis the season for a kiss of sun and that fresh faced summer vibe only these months can bring. Here are a few new makeup finds I’ve discovered during quarantine to enhance that summer look:
KVD Vegan Beauty Brow Struck Dimension Powder
When you’re wearing your mask and only showing a few inches of skin, the eyes truly are the mirror of the soul. And if you haven’t been to Archbeauty yet and therefore need some at-home brow love, this powder can give some DIY depth, definition and dimension. Formulated with innovative 3-D reflective pigments, the semi-metallic finish mimics the sheen of real hair. The formula features a hybrid two-in-one primer and powder to enhance grip and wear time. This product is vegan, cruelty-free, waterproof and long-wear. It’s normally $21 at Sephora but it’s on sale for $8!
Milk Makeup Holographic Stick (Mini) in Golden Peach
The quickest sun-kissed trick is a touch of shimmer on the upper cheekbones and this multi-use holographic highlighter stick, made with meteorite powder, twilight pearls, mango butter, coconut oil and avocado oil, leaves skin both hydrated and glowing. It can also be applied to lips and eyes. I recommend buying the mini as a little goes a long way. It also comes in silver and rose shades, which definitely make a statement, but golden peach is neutral and works on any skin tone. This product is vegan and free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates and is $15.
Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops
The Isle of Paradise brand is in-demand as the color is progressive and considered “universally flattering,” enhancing all skin-tones. As opposed to other self-tanners that can be streaky, you mix these drops with your own moisturizer and the color correcting actives cancel red tones to give a perfect, medium golden tan. You can start conservative and only add 1-2 drops until you build color, or if you already have base color, you can add more, so this is great for the face, especially if you use SPF on your face daily, but it can be applied to the body as well. (It can also be mixed with oils, serums, moisturizers — even foundation.) Like any self-tanner, exfoliate first and wash your hands thoroughly after application. Want to give it a try without the commitment? You can receive an Isle of Paradise Self-tanning drops trial size from Sephora free with any online purchase of $25 or more.
Dior Addict Stellar Shine Lipstick
Leave it to Dior to create a next-generation lip shine! Choose between a high shine, matte or shimmer finish (Dior calls these “pure shine,” “sparkle” or “mirror”) in a host of shades. Here’s the skinny: except for the matte, Stellar Shine is more of a gloss than a lipstick but all finishes offer deep hydration (thanks to the infusion of aloe vera) and though the product touts it’s “long-wearing,” it still is more of a gloss and doesn’t stay on as long as say, a “color stay” product. That said, the shades are beautiful and since they generally offer a sheer tint, the colors work with your own lip hue. Favorite shade to date? Pink Meteor. Retails for $38.
